TOSlink optical is the most popular choice for the interconnectivity of S/PDIF (Sony/Philips Digital Interface Format) digital audio, including both uncompressed PCM digital, as well as compressed digital audio formats such as Dolby Digital™ and DTS®. The standard construction of a TOSlink optical interconnect a 1mm polyfiber core of various quality levels, lightly polished and terminated with a TOSlink connector, either plastic or metal (the latter generally being better). The KORDZ® EVOLUTION is a shining example of such construction, done so with exquisite attention to detail and quality.
